A three-month training program for senior officials managing health centers and hospitals was launched yesterday, aiming to enhance leadership and operational efficiency in healthcare facilities across Maldives.
The “Management Development Program for Hospital Executives” is being conducted in collaboration with the Civil Service Training Institute. It targets both politically appointed managers and civil servants holding key responsibilities within healthcare institutions.
According to the Ministry of Health, 150 individuals are participating in this year’s online training. The program focuses on improving managerial skills, strengthening healthcare operations, financial management, and the use of information technology in health services.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim expressed confidence that the training would contribute to better service delivery and foster a more competent healthcare workforce.
“These individuals are expected to apply what they learn to improve the services provided at hospitals and health centers. Regardless of location, a healthcare provider must be seen as a key figure in their community,” he said.
The Health Ministry plans to continue this training annually in partnership with the Civil Service Training Institute.
