President’s Office has opened applications for a vacant seat on the Maldives Broadcasting Commission (MBC) following the resignation of its Vice President and Member, Mohamed Fazeen.
In an announcement made today, the President’s Office stated that interested candidates can submit their applications until April 15 at 12:00 pm. Submission of application forms, affidavits, and criminal and debt record forms will be accepted from 08:30 am to 12:00 pm on working days, excluding public holidays.
The vacancy was opened after Fazeen stepped down amid an ongoing investigation by the Parliament’s Independent Institutions Committee over allegations of sexual harassment.
He was summoned to the committee after being accused of sexually assaulting an employee of the commission. Fazeen resigned shortly after the committee reached a decision recommending his dismissal.
