A Malaysian firm has been awarded the contract to develop council buildings on 55 islands in Maldives.

The agreement was signed by the Ministry's Permanent Secretary, Dr Fathimath Muna, and Hextar Maldives Managing Director, Ali Shareef.
However, the Ministry has yet to disclose the specific locations of the council buildings or the total cost of the project.
