MNDF corrected this in a message sent to media yesterday.
They asked for this to be corrected in reporting, and apologized for the error.
Search for Raj Kumar commenced when Coast Guard received reports of him going missing on Monday night.
MNDF said that yesterday, they had searched areas where he could have washed up on the shore.
Additionally, Coast Guard is also communicating with international flights flying over the region in attempts to locate the missing man.
Instead of military drones, Coast Guard sea vessels are being used in the search, MNDF said, although they did not specify why drones are not being used.
