Two Maldivian badminton players will be competing in the Polish Badminton Festival.
14-year old Maldivian badminton player Kiyaan Adil Mohamed will also compete at the Badminton Europe Junior Calendar's Yonex Polish International Festival, it has been confirmed.
Kiyaan is the second athlete to participate in a tournament listed in the Badminton Europe Junior Calendar, after Laiba Ahmed Mahloof, who has been participating in the tournaments last year. With last Saturday's wins in a tournament in Lithuania, Laiba has amassed eight international medals for Maldives.
Kiyaan has also been representing Maldives in badminton internationally, including his most recent event at last year's South Asian Regional Junior Championship hosted by Badminton Asia.
Both Laiba and Kiyaan are now in Poland to participate in the Polish International Festival. Kiyaan will compete in the under 15 category while Laiba will play in the under 13 category.
The five day tournament, which begins today, will see over 140 junior badminton athletes from five countries compete against each other.
