In a post on X, police said they had examined the information shared by the relevant authorities to see if there was any irregularity in Rajnee obtaining the Vinares flat, and that nothing of that sort was flagged.
Rajnee was suspended from work following a social media post alleging that he had illegally received a flat from the Vinares housing project.
According to police at the time, the decision was made to maintain the credibility of the investigation into the Binveriyaa and Gedhoruveriyaa scheme currently being carried out by the Economic Crime Investigations department of the agency and to ensure that it would not be adversely affected.
Rumors have been circulating on social media that Rajnee, who also sat on the press conference held by police to share information on the investigation into the unfair acquisition of plots by submitting fake documents, claiming that the he acquired the Vinares flat illegally.
According to the list of those who received the flat making rounds on social media, Rajnee's name is on there as well.
Mihaaru has received a copy of the agreement and the document. According to the document, HDC decided to allocate a Vinares flat to Rajnee in 2022 in response to his request to get a Vinares flat instead of a Hiyaa flat.
Issues in allocating Vinares flats came to light because of the way the remaining Vinares flats were issued when the previous administration ended and the incumbent took charge.
