The ministry said that inspections will be carried out from 9am to 4pm in Male' and islands.
The ministry said that the inspections would look into pest control in such locations, storage of food produce in racks/shelves and fridges, and storage of items where the label instructs temperature control.
Expiry dates of items will also be checked, as well as storage, labelling and packaging of food items to ensure the guidelines in the Food Safety Act are being followed.
The Health Ministry also appealed to the public to report any concerns to MFDA on 7603204 or HPA on 7960121.
