The Supreme Court, on Sunday, appointed Judge Aisha Shujune Muhammad as the court's representative at the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
The decision was finalised following a vote taken among the Supreme Court Judges.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih presented the letter of appointment to Judge Shujune at a ceremony held at the President's Office. Judge Dr Azmiralda Zahir administered the oath of JSC membership for Judge Shujune.
Shujune was designated as the apex court's representative for the judicial watchdog after Judge Abdulla Areef, the previous representative, retired.
