This is the second time Hoodh has won the Rannamaari Challege, with his earlier win being in 2021.
In the open finals held yesterday afternoon, Hoodh faced off against Kayaan Abdulla Areef.
In the final heat, Hoodh rode seven waves and scored 11.25. Kayan also rode seven waves, competing closely with Hoodh, but scored 10.05.
Hoodh scored higher in the third and fourth waves, with 6.25 scored in the fourth wave. The third wave, too, brought in 5 points.
Kayan scored the highest point in the second wave, with 4.25.
Kayan made it to the finals after winning against his dad, Abdulla Areef (Fuku) in the semi finals. He scored 9.20 in the semi, while his father scored 6.75.
Hoodh competed against Ahmed Agil (Ammadey) in the semis. In that heat, Hoodh won by 14.74 point, with Ammadey scoring 13.75.
Kayan Areef also competed in the junior finals. However, Yaseen won over him.
Female champion this year is once again Mariyam Rihal Aya Naseem.
Male' team beat Rasmaadhoo and won the team event in the finals.
