International Teachers' Conference starts with 250 participants

The International Teachers' Conference has commenced today.

This conference is organized by National Institute of Education (NIE) and is held bi-annually. This year's conference will end tomorrow.

The theme for this year's conference has been announced as "Educate, Empower, Elevate Equitable Education For Twenty First Century Excellence".

The conference was inaugurated by First Lady Sajidha Mohamed and is being held at the Centre for Higher Secondary Education in Male'.

Ministry of Education stated that 250 teachers have registered to participate in the conference. This year's conference sees the submission of sixty research papers, four case studies, two keynote presentations and two panel discussions, the Ministry said.

The conference aims to;

1. Address challenges faced by those in the education sector

2. Discussions on improving teaching

3. Promoting academic tourism in the Maldives, and introducing foreigners in the education sector to Maldives

The first International Teachers' Conference was held in 2012, with the most recent event being held in 2022 in Haa Dhaalu atoll Kulhudhuhfushi.
