STELCO has yesterday gifted a drone used in fire fighting and a deep tracker to Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).
The deep tracker can be used in underwater searches and has the capacity to dive to 200m depths and retrieve things with the use of a robotic arm.
The drone can be used in fire fighting, especially in incidences where tall buildings are involved. It can fly to heights of 200m carrying the water hose.
The equipment was presented to MNDF in a special ceremony held at the Bandaara Koshi yesterday.
STELCO Managing Director Hussain Fahmy officially handed over the equipment, which was received by MNDF Chief of Defence Force Major General Ibrahim Hilmy.
