The national waste management program, "Magey Saafu Raajjee" (My Clean Maldives), is part of the Week-14 roadmap and focuses on scheduling, announcing, and implementing a national project for waste management across islands.
Waste Management Corporation Limited (WAMCO), officially launched its services in Kaafu atoll Himmafushi on Monday.
The service was inaugurated by the President during his official tour of the islands in Kaafu atoll.
A senior official said that recruitment is currently underway, and it will take approximately 10 days before the practical waste collection work begins.
In addition to Male' City, WAMCO services are being extended to various atolls. This year, waste management services have also been introduced in Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhuffushi and Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo.
