Senior Magistrate of Vaavu Fulidhoo Court, Shireen Nahida Latheef, has been suspended today.
The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) stated in their announcement that Shireen has been suspended for 15 days without pay and benefits following the confirmation of a case investigated against her.
Without providing details of the case, JSC stated that Shireen's action violated the Judges Act and the Judges' Code of Conduct.
When taking disciplinary actions against judges, JSC no longer publicly discloses the details of such cases.
