FAM Acting Secretary General Mohamed Shujau said that a specific date has not been set as of yet.
'The tentative date is March 8. Final confirmation will be made after we get confirmation from FIFA," he said.
At the congress, last year's budget will be approved and an Appeals Committee and Disciplinary Committee will be appointed. Shujau said that an audit firm will also be decided upon.
Shujau further said that an amendment to the general regulations has also been proposed, which the legal department is currently working on.
He said that an additional congress will be held later to bring major changes to the regulations, with FIFA also having proposed some amendments.
This is the first FAM congress that will be held after the Normalization Committee took up management of the authority.
Normalization Committee Chairman Ahmed Muizzu will be chair of the congress. Muizzu was appointed as Chairman last Thursday by FIFA after former Chairman Zuhoor was dismissed.
