Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) unveils its new RTL buses.
During a special ceremony held on Wednesday evening, June 15, the new additions to MTCC's RTL bus fleet were unveiled by Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
MTCC reports the new vehicles will be put on the company's RTL bus operations effective from Thursday, June 16.
MTCC acquired 15 new double-deckers in a bid to increase bus operations to Hulhumale' Phase II.
Operations to the recently populated area of the satellite town officially commenced back on September 30, 2021 with a total of six different routes traveled.
With the new additions MTCC confirms of increasing traveling routes from six to a total of eight within the Greater Male' Region.
MTCC further reported that the travel duration between west-end of Male' City and Hulhumale' Phase II has been dropped to 15 minutes during peak hours and to 20 minutes during off-peak hours.
With the new double-deckers, MTCC's RTL bus fleet increases to a total of 46 operating buses.
