Police said that the incident had occurred in an island under the South Central Police, and was reported yesterday.
While Police are investigating the matter, no further details have been released.
Any details that may reveal the identity of the child is not released in cases concerning children.
As such, the island where the incident occurred, nor the identity of the arrested person has been divulged.
However, Mihaaru News reports that the arrested man is a muezzin, who is said to have abused a student who came to him to study Quran.
