Aya won the women's division of Rannamaari Challenge for the fourth year in a row.
Mariyam Rahil Naseem (Aya) has won the women's division of the Dhivehi surfing league's final tournament, Rannamaari Challenge.
Contrary to previous years where a maximum of three to four women participated in surfing tournaments, six women participated in the tournament this year.
Aya, who has consistently won all the tournaments since Maldives Surfing Association (MSA) began holding the women's division, clinched the title by scoring 10.25 points against Shaziya Saeed (Shaazu) in the final heat this morning. Shaazu scored 6.5 points in the heat.
Aya qualified for this year's final heat by scoring 12.5 points against Rishtha Shuja and Aminath Thaanees Shiran. Shaazu won the second heat of the first round against Raufa Ahmed and Naha Nasrulla with 9.25 points.
Rishtha and Raufa, who participated in an MSA tournament for the first time, faced off in the heat to determine third place, with Ristha claiming the bronze with a total of 6.25 points.
Along with this year's tournament, Aya has won four consecutive women's division titles in the Rannamaari Challenge held in the part years. She also won the 2022 Kalhegalekoda tournament in Gadhhoo and Gaamaadhookolhu tournament in Himmafushi.
Aya has also been representing Maldives in the international surfing scene.
