All board members of HDC except for recently appointed Chairperson Ahmed Nasif had been suspended on last Thursday to allow for the police investigation into the land issue to proceed unhindered.
Then MD of HDC Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed had also been suspended at the time. He later handed in his resignation on Saturday.
Members of the board besides Nasif are:
- Azhan Abdulla Saeed
- Ibrahim Yoosuf Fulhu

Although the suspension has been lifted, their passports remain seized. In relation to this investigation, passports of 20 individuals are being held on police request. This includes Fazul and his brother Ibrahim Fazeel Rasheed, who is amongst those said to have wrongfully received land plots.
In addition to this, 15 staff of HDC have also been dismissed, with all said to have been in senior management under Fazul.
