An announcement on the Ministry of Health website states that hospitals which previously provided consultations with specialist doctors during official hours will provide service in two sessions over an extended period commencing from this month.
The hospitals which will provide extended hours of service are Haa Dhaalu atoll Kulhudhuhfushi Regional Hospital, Raa atoll Ungoofaaru Regional Hospital, Laamu atoll Gan Regional Hospital, Gaafu Dhaalu atoll Thinadhoo AbduSamad Regional Hospital and Addu Equatorial Hospital.
Kulhudhuhfushi Regional Hospital has extended service times from last Monday. The remaining hospitals will also begin doing so effective from July 15, the Ministry said.
Previously, these hospitals provided OPD services from 08:30 hrs to 16:00 hrs. With the extension, service will now be provided until 22:00 hrs.
The ministry stated that this change will present convenience to service seekers.
