The thief who broke into Xeon Mobiles on Majeedhee Magu and robbed the shop has been remanded in custody for 20 days.
The person arrested in connection with the case is a 47 year old Maldivian man.
When he was presented in court yesterday for a custody decision, the Criminal Court noted that the man has a record of being remanded for similar offenses.
Police said in court that numerous mobile phones stolen from the shop were recovered from the suspect at the time of his arrest.

CCTV footage show a man in a striped t-shirt, wearing a cap, hit the glass door of the shoo with an object in his hand. After breaking the glass, the man leaves without entering the shop.
Later, with the timestamp on the footage showing 05:40 hrs, a man returns to the shop, leaving with about six bags worth of mobile phones and other goods.
Vehicles are also seen passing on the road. However, the footage does not show anyone attempting to intervene in the robbery or to stop the thief.
