The Chairperson of the Bank of Maldives (BML) Board of Directors has been appointed to the board today alongside two additional individuals.

Ahmed Ali Habeeb, Mohamed Shahid and Ali Irfan were appointed to the board at the Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) held today. Ahmed Ali, who currently serves as a Cabinet Secretary at the President's Office was appointed to the position of Board Chairperson.

The EGM was held through the online platform of Maldives Security Depositary (MSD), 'Fahi Vote'.

With these three new appointees, BML currently has 9 members on their board. They are six members appointed by the government and three members representing the general shareholders. The board, however, is originally composed of 11 members and currently features two vacant seats.
