Flats awarded to employees of MWSC

Flats under MWSC Hiya housing project in Hulhumalé 2 have been given to 192 employees.

The building has 60 three-bedroom flats, 40 1+2 bedroom flats and 92 one-bedroom flats. China's "23 Metallurgical Construction Group Co., Ltd. of Maintenance" constructed the 15-storey building.

The building has a children's area, an area designated for a shop, and a parking lot.

The company's Managing Director Hassan Shah said the recipients of the flats will be able to take loans through Islamic Bank to facilitate their payment. He said he was happy that MWSC employees received flats under a government housing project. The flats were built at the company's own expense.

The flats were officially opened by the Minister of the President’s Office, Ahmed Sameer. He said that it was important to find housing opportunities for employees who were unable to receive flats through the government’s housing projects.

“I would like to ask the Chairman of the Board of MWSC and the management to provide special arrangements for the remaining employees to get housing within the company's policies,” he said.
