16 year old Eyan took the Nathinal Bandufilaa Challenge 2024 title this time.
After competing against the most recent leagues' champion Ali Javid (Jaatte), 16 year old Eyan Ahmed has claimed the title of this year's National Bandufilaa [bodyboarding] Challenge.
In the final heat which took place yesterday at the Varunulaa Raalhugandu area, Eyan secured 10.33 points, while Jaatte managed to get 7.83 points.
Eyan made his way through to the finals of the men's open category with 12.82 points after a face off with Aamin Umar Moosa in yesterday's semi finals, who scored 10.43 points.
In the semi finals' first heat, Jaatte competed against Ashraf Ahmed and scored 12.17 points. However, his place in the finals was secured after winning over Maldives' best bodyboarder Ali Kushruvaan Ahmed (Kuda Ayya).
However, Kuda Ayya still defended his champion title in the drop knee category of the competition. He won the final heat against Aamin Umar Moosa with a score of 12.34 points, while Aamin scored 4.03 points.
Ibrahim Shimaan, who defeated Ahmed Afnan took the championship title of the masters category.
Opens champion Eyan also competed in the junior category. However, with 7.40 points, the title went to Mohamed Azan Ahmed after Eyan managed to score 6.60 points.
Azan is also the national bodyboarding league's junior champion, as well as the junior champion of the league's first two tournaments, Burunu Shikaaru and Labera Bodyboarding Challenge.
