The Supreme Court has issued an order to delay the implementation of the High Court's interim order issued yesterday, which temporarily halted the Gulhi Falhu reclamation project.

In response to a case filed by a private individual at the Civil Court claiming environmental damage from the project, the High Court issued an interim order yesterday instructing that all work related to the Gulhi Falhu reclamation project be halted until the case is concluded in Civil Court.

The state appealed High Court's injunction ordering the suspension of the reclamation project to the Supreme Court.

The three judge bench of the Supreme Court today issued a unanimous order directing the state not to take any steps to implement the High Court's order.

The case was heard by a panel of judges comprising Justice Ali Rasheed Hussain, Justice Husnu Suood, and Justice Dr. Azmiralda Zahir, with Justice Ali Rasheed presiding over the bench.

The State has previously said that the halt of the Gulhi Falhu project would cause daily losses of millions to the State.
