The State pressed charges of abusing official position against him for using an MNDF VIP Building in ViliMale' as accommodation for his father Ibrahim Shakir for a period of over one year. The State also claims that an MNDF Private rank officer had been assigned to tend to the needs of Shiyam's father.
Criminal Court has previously concluded the hearings in the case. The announcement of the verdict was earlier scheduled for 11:30 hrs today, but the Criminal Court later declared it canceled without providing a reason.
An earlier hearing scheduled to announce the verdict in this case had also been postponed.
