They said that although the weather will clear up over the next two days, northern and central atolls will experience rain, with thunderstorms expected in some areas.
These areas will see windspeeds at 35 miles per hour.
They said that southern islands will see improved weather, although there may be scattered squalls.
Wave heights are expected to be between 4 to 6 feet today, with moderately rough seas. Due to this a White Alert has been issued from Lhaviyani atoll to Laamu atoll.
Over the past 24 hours, the highest rain was recorded in Male' and Hulhule'.
MET Office records show that Hulhule' saw 144mm rainfall, with Male' figures being at 142.6mm and Hulhumale' at 122mm.
MNDF has said that a total of 30,569 tonnes of water were cleared from Male' streets due to the floods caused by yesterday's rain.
