World Travel Market (WTM), the world’s largest tourism fair, began in London yesterday, with 217 participants from 91 Maldivian companies.
Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) said that the Maldives is represented at the fair in a 650 square meter area, featuring 55 Business-to-Business (B2B) meeting tables, 75 co-exhibitor counters, and three industry meeting areas.
The fair provides the opportunity for one-on-one meetings with top UK and international travel professionals, allowing stakeholders to share updates on Maldives' tourism offerings and promote individual properties.
UK is the third largest source market for tourist arrivals to Maldives, with 145,000 visitors so far this year, accounting for 8.6 percent of total arrivals.
MMPRC has been actively promoting Maldives in the UK, through initiatives like the Discover Maldives webinar series and collaborations with major travel operators.
WTM, which began yesterday, runs until tomorrow.
