Mihaaru Awards is the new sports awards launched by daily local newspaper, Mihaaru, last year. The first awards ceremony was held on May 5, 2018 in Paradise Island Resort, where the efforts and achievements of local athletes in various sports field were celebrated.

Paradise Island Resort, May 5, 2018: Ahmed "Bodu Heena" Saleem was conferred the Lifetime Achievement "Mohamed Zahir Naseer Award" for his longstanding contributions to the fields of football, badminton and athletics.
