Maldives Immigration, with over 200 officers carried out a large raid operation in Male' City to locate and deport undocumented immigrants. Controller of Immigration Mohamed Shamaan Waheed and Deputy Controller of Immigration Ahmed Ashfan had also joined the efforts and personally carried out the objectives. Entering stores without prior notice during the operation yesterday evening, officers had verified documents and arrested individuals unlawfully residing in the Maldives. Some expatriates had made efforts to flee after sighting Immigration officers as well.
