New academic school year begins

The new academic year has begun for all schools across the country after a month-long holiday. This year, 96,000 students are enrolled, including 40,300 girls and 42,700 boys. A total of 1,126 students from other islands have enrolled in schools in Male' City, and 1,000 students have transferred between schools in Male' City. The Ministry of Education has arranged for shortened school hours during the first three days due to bad weather conditions across the country.
