The special ceremony to appoint ambassadors, high commissioners and permanent representatives to foreign organization and countries was held on Tuesday. The President Dr Mohamed Muizzu had issued letters to the first nine ambassadors appointed to selected countries and organization in this administration during the ceremony which was attended by multiple senior representatives of the State. While the President and this government had assumed office on November 17 last year, appointment of ambassadors to various countries was delayed due to the parliament –of which the majority was held by the opposition– shelving the approval issuance for the nominees selected by the State.
