Velana International Airport - June 12, 2023: Saudi Arabia's national airline Saudia commenced its special flights for Hajj pilgrims from the Maldives. Vice President Faisal Naseem and Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to the Maldives, Matrek Abdullah Al-Ajalin Aldosari inaugurated the special flights at a ceremony held at Velana International Airport and met with some of the pilgrims who boarded the first flight. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has announced that a total of six flights would be scheduled for the pilgrimage, departing on May 12, 13, 15, 16, and 19. President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih designated Vice President Faisal Naseem as the head of the Hajj pilgrims from the Maldives this year. -- Photos: President's Office and Embassy of Saudi Arabia
