Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi arrived in Maldives on June 8, 2019, for his first official visit after being elected for a second term. The visit is seen as evidence of strengthening diplomatic relations between the two countries since President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's inauguration in 2018.
