Mihaaru News signs as online media partner of Gold Cup

A total of 22 teams will compete in the tournament, which will be held in Male' from November 20 to December 25. Organized by Ninety Plus, this is the largest privately hosted football tournament in Male' to date.

Mihaaru News has signed as the official online media partner of the "Ninety Plus Gold Cup," a national football tournament open to teams from islands and cities across Maldives.

A total of 22 teams will compete in the tournament, which will be held in Male' from November 20 to December 25. Organized by Ninety Plus, this is the largest privately hosted football tournament in Male' to date.

Ninety Plus Co-founder and an experienced coach Mohamed Shazly, highlighted the tournament’s scale, noting that it will be the first time a local football tournament of this magnitude will be broadcast live across the country.

“It will be the biggest tournament, with all matches aired live on TV. There has never been a football tournament broadcasted live in Maldives with so many teams participating,” Shazly said.

All matches will be broadcast live on PSM’s Yes TV, including pre and post match shows.

“Not only will the matches be shown live, but there will also be an hour-long pre-match show, creating a full football program on TV from 15:00 to 23:00 hrs,” Shazly said.

The tournament will see participation from teams representing Haa Alif Dhidhdhoo, Haa Dhaalu atoll Neykurendhoo, Raa atoll Alifushi, Baa atoll Eydhafushi, Thulhaadhoo, Kendhoo, Lhaviyani atoll Naifaru, Hinnavaru Kurendhoo, Male' City, Kaafu atoll Maafushi, Huraa, Guraidhoo, Alif Alif atoll Thoddoo, Faafu atoll Nilandhoo, Dhaalu atoll Meedhoo, Kudahuvadhoo, Thaa atoll Thimarafushi, Gaafu Dhaalu Fares-Maathodaa, Fuvahmulah City, and Addu City.
