Government policy is to support development of private practices: Minister

Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim has said that the government's policy is to offer support for the advancement of private practices.

Nazim made these comments while speaking at the inauguration of the Eve Clinic West Park last night.

The Minister said that the health sectors in countries across the globe are developing with contributions from the private sector and private individuals.

Nazim noted that Eve Clinic had worked diligently over the past decade to provide quality health services to Maldivians.

Eve Clinic was first opened on Fareedhee Magu in January 2010, with just one doctor, now established pediatrician Dr Abdulla Niyaf, offering services there at the time. The clinic has developed exponentially over the past years, with offering services in a variety of specialties now.

Dr Jaufar, son of Eve Clinic Chairman Hussain Mohamed Fulhu, also spoke at the ceremony.

He said that the biggest objective in opening the new Eve Clinic West Park is to offer more services with additional facilities, and to shorten the waiting queues for patients who come seeking service.

- Nephrology

- Urology

- Mental Health

- Radiography, Ultrasound scans

- Internal medicine

- General consultations

- Counselling

- ENT

- Surgical and orthopedics

- Gynaecology

- Paediatrics
