Police release expat workers arrested in connection to boat brawl

The Maldives Police Service has revealed that 11 people who were arrested yesterday in connection with a fight that broke out between expatriate workers on a boat in the TGT area of Malé, have now been released.

The police did not divulge any further details regarding the incident; they said it is still under investigation.

A video of the incident circulating on social media shows a group of people on two boats that were close by attacking each other using brooms and other equipment on the boats.

The cause of the fight is still unknown.

The police said on Saturday that five people sustained various injuries in the fight.
