Two men have been arrested for allegedly sorcery targeted at Raa Atoll Council Office.
Two men, Mohamed Amjad, 61 and Mohamed Waheed, 67, both residents of Ungoofaaru were arrested under a court order for allegedly performing witchcraft and sorcery targeted at the council office in Ungoofaaru.
Police said that the two individuals were brought before the court and have been remanded in custody for 15 days.
Reports of sorcery related incidents have been increasing in recent months. In response to growing concerns, the police conducted a major operation in Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhuffushi last Thursday.
During the operation, authorities searched 10 houses and found items linked to sorcery in eight of those homes. However. no arrests have been made in that case.
