Amendment to hold by-elections twice a year sent to committee

Parliament has today accepted the amendment proposed by the government to hold by-elections for local councils and women's development committees twice a year.

Parliament has today accepted the amendment proposed by the government to hold by-elections for local councils and women's development committees twice a year.

The amendment was accepted in today's sitting through the unanimous votes of all 77 members of parliament who were in attendance. The bill has been forwarded to the Decentralization Committee for further review.
