Police have now identified the deceased as Ibrahim Jinah Mohamed, 36, of Coconut Villa, Meemu atoll Maduvvari.
It has been reported that the dead body discovered yesterday afternoon floating in the lagoon of Hulhumale' was that of a fisherman who worked on a yellow fin tuna fishing vessel.
Police have now identified the deceased as Ibrahim Jinah Mohamed, 36, of Coconut Villa, Meemu atoll Maduvvari.
Police said that after necessary examinations for the investigation, the body has now been released to the family.
The funeral was held last night at the Hulhumale' Cemetery.
