At the meeting, the Minister assured continued support for development in the Maldives. He noted Maldives' commitment towards the One China Principle and emphasized that the relations between Maldives and China indicate how countries, irrespective of size, can collaborate effectively for mutual progress.
The Minister further commended President Muizzu's development vision for the Maldives.
At the meeting, President Muizzu highlighted the importance of expediting projects under the agreements made between the countries. He pressed upon the need to prioritize social housing and road development projects at present. He also sought China's support in economic diversification, notably in agriculture and fisheries.
Minister Wang Yi arrived in Maldives yesterday morning on an unofficial visit. He left the country last night.
