Rainy weather across Maldives as school holidays begin

MET Office has said that the coming days will see rainy weather across the atolls of Maldives as the school holidays start today.

MET Office has said that the coming days will see rainy weather across the atolls of Maldives as the school holidays start today.

A MET Office official said that capital Male' City will likely see heavy rains and strong winds until this afternoon. Later in the day, the winds and the seas are expected to become calmer.

There is currently a White Alert out from Haa Alif atoll to Thaa atoll till noon today. Wind speeds are expected to be between 14 miles and 23 miles per hour, with gusts at 40 miles per hour.

The official said that surges of rainy weather are expected across the country in the coming week. Records show that rains are strongest in the northern atolls at the moment.
