A team of experts from India have arrived in Maldives for the investigation into Thursday's fire at the 'Tinu' Building housing two ministries and an office of the Male' City Council, and the adjacent Green Building.

Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau said that the team from India is now working collaboratively with local Police. No further details were provided at this time.

With the fire having raged on for four hours before authorities could control it, the buildings ended up being damaged beyond use. Due to this, the three affected ministries are currently being operated out of Dharubaaruge.

Police have said that they had begun investigations into the incident on the day of the fire itself. The Commissioner earlier said that CCTV footage had been sought and are being analyzed. Police appealed to the public to contact them if any information regarding the fire is known.
