The government has introduced additional measures to streamline the distribution of government-donated fish can cases for Ramadan, Local Government Minister Adam Shareef announced today.

Initially, the distribution process began on Thursday across five locations in Male', Hulhumale', and Vilimale. Island councils will oversee the distribution in atolls. However, due to long queues, additional distribution centers have been established.

From today, token issuance will resume at 6:00 pm, with several additional measures to ease collection, including;

- Increased number of tokens per center to speed up distribution

- Opportunity for those with later collection dates to reschedule

- Assistance with taking tokens for collection

- Assistance for individuals who were unable to collect their allocated fish can cases

The minister assured that the distribution will continue until all households receive their Ramadan gifts.

Each household is entitled to a 48-can case of fish, distributed per electricity meter number. Approximately over 80,000 households across Maldives will receive the state donated fish can cases.
