Two men have been arrested for mugging an expatriate on a Male' street late Thursday night. The Criminal Court has placed both in remand in custody for a period of ten days.
Two men have been arrested for mugging an expatriate on a Male' street late Thursday night. The Criminal Court has placed both in remand in custody for a period of ten days.
Police said that they had received reports of the mugging on Gulabi Goalhi at approximately 2:12 am.
They said that the muggers had stolen MVR 33,500 from the expatriate.
Arrested in this case are Fawaz Kalhu Thuhthu, 36, H. Redhan, and Sofwan Ali, 36, Lucky House, Th. Thimarafushi.
Fawaz has an earlier conviction of terrorism charges, with a 15 year prison sentence.
He was convicted for setting a Police motorcycle on fire, and was sentenced on August 30, 2012.
He has since been arrested multiple times for various offences.
