A speedboat identified as Velimaa has run aground on an uninhabited island near Thaa atoll Kin'bidhoo today.
The incident took place in the afternoon hours, and images from the scene show that the speedboat, which frequents between Malé and Thaa atoll, had completed run aground onto the island.
Maldives police service confirmed that the accident caused minor injuries to two of the three onboard.
As of yet, no confirmed cause for the incident has been revealed by authorities.
