Soneva Jani has claimed the championship at the Tekkers Resort Futsal Cup 2024 by beating reigning champions Velaa Private Island with a score of 2-1.
Sovena Jani would the Noonu Zone championship back in 2022 as well. Velaa Printe Island won the Noonu Zone championship as well as the entire tournament last year, with Soneva Jani not participating in the Cup that year.
In Friday's final match, the player of the match was awarded to Ahmed Shamveel Abdulla of Soneva Jani. Shamveel has also won the best player of the zone and the golden boot for scoring the highest number of goals.
The best five players of the tournament are Soneva Jani's Hussain Shaffah, Captain Amdhaan Ali, Velaa Private Island Captain Ahmed Imran, Goalkeeper Ahmed Shafiu and Siyam World's Adhi Abdul Ghani.
The best coach title was awarded to Soneva Jani's Hamdhan Salih, with Cheval Blanc Randheli being selected the Fair Play team.
With this win, Soneva Jani has now reached the Knockout Championship Tournament.
In today's championship, Soneva Jani will play against Lhaviyani Zone Champion Le Meridien. The team that wins the championship will play against Joali Maldives in the quarter finals.
Tekkers will commence the North Kaafu Zone matches on Wednesday.
