Five individuals, including a 15-year-old minor were arrested at the scene.
Police have revealed the identities of four of the five individuals arrested in connection with the assault and unlawful captivity of a man in Hithadhoo, Addu City.
Police said the incident came to light while officers were patrolling the area near Milo Stadium at around 1:35 a.m. when they noticed people fleeing the scene.
Upon further investigation, officers discovered a 37-year-old man tied to a bench. He had been assaulted, and part of his head was shaved.
Five individuals, including a 15-year-old minor were arrested at the scene.
The identified individuals, all residents of Hithadhoo include Samah Thaufeeq, 20, Mohamed Yaish Azaad, 19, Ashraf Mohamed, 22 and Ali Mazin Hassan, 20.
The identity of the minor remains undisclosed due to legal protections.
Police have yet to reveal the motive behind the incident, and the case is currently under investigation.
