President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the official visit to Estonia is the start of a 'new era of bilateral cooperation'.
The President made these remarks after concluding his visit to Estonia on invitation of Estonian President Dr Alar Karis.
This was the first visit of a sitting president of Maldives to Estonia, as well as President Muizzu's first official visit to a European country.
Through out the visit, the President met with various leaders of Estonia, including President Karis, Speaker of the Parliament, Ministers, Mayor of Tartu, representatives from academia and multiple other prominent institutions.
The meetings covered discussions on exploring avenues for collaboration between the countries.
In a post on social media platform X, the President highlighted the MoUs signed with Estonian institutions covering digitalization, environment and political consultation.
He stated that Estonia's digital transformation is a global benchmark for efficient and transparent governance, appreciating the opportunity to learn from their expertise.
President Muizzu expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality shown by Estonian leaders and the people.
