Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture on Sunday put up another 21 uninhabited islands for bid under the 'Varuvaa' scheme, which leases islands for agricultural purposes.
In a notice, the ministry stated that the bid forms will be sold at a rate of MVR 20, from July 23 to August 6. The forms will be available from the ministry between 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on official working days.
The ministry will accept processing fees from July August 7 - 9, between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
This time, the islands up for bid are from atolls between Haa Alif and Faafu, sans the atolls Baa and Alif Alif:
- Kudafinolhu in Haa Alif Atoll (3.60 hectares)
- Umuraiyfinolhu in Haa Alif Atoll (1.09 hectares)
- Innafushi in Haa Dhaal Atoll (2.25 hectares)
- Kudadhoo in Shaviyani Atoll (3.60 hectares)
- Dhikkuredhoo in Raa Atoll (4 hectares)
- Kalhumanjehuraa in Lhaviyani Atoll (0.70 hectares)
- Ithaafinolhu in Kaafu Atoll (0.24 hectares)
