HBO Max, one of the biggest streaming platforms in the world, has been made available in Maldives since Thursday.
As per a statement that was released by Warner Bros. Discovery, they have introduced HBO Max, their premier global service, to new markets in the Asia Pacific region. This includes Maldives, Bhutan, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Nieu, Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.
HBO Max has programs and movies such as Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, DC Universe, Cartoon Network, HBO, Max Originals, Hollywood's most famous movies, and programs from Discovery and TLC all in one place.

- Series to come: Season 3 of House of the Dragon, set to begin in June and DC's Lanterns, set to begin in August

HBO Max's interface is designed to be user friendly and with varied features:
- Five profiles can be created from one account. Content will be recommended as per the watchers interest.
- Profiles can be customized to be kid-friendly and will have parental controls.
- Easy to search and continue watching films from where it is left off with a "Continue Watching" feature, with the ability to download for watching without internet connectivity.
There are currently two plans available for Maldives when looking at the subscription prices, which are a yearly plan and a monthly plan.
Monthly plans have two set plans: the Standard Plan for USD 9.99 and the Premium Plan for USD 12.49.
Yearly plans have two set plans as well: the Standard Plan for USD 99.99 and the Premium Plan for USD 124.99.
These are competitive prices compared to Netflix.
